This ski season, Hotpod Yoga, Europe’s largest yoga company pioneering ‘yoga for real life’, together with Venture Capital investor Cocoon Investments, is taking to the slopes of Serre Chevalier in the French Alps to provide ‘Ski Prep’ and ‘Post Ski’ yoga sessions to help strengthen and soothe aching limbs. Their latest slope side classes will support the introduction of seasonal Ski Fit classes in London getting individuals fit and ready for the season ahead.
The Serre Chevalier classes have been specifically designed to aid performance and prepare the body for the day’s skiing ahead, as well as to stretch and prevent stiffness in a calming environment at the end of each day, ensuring the body is realigned and repaired. Having already established themselves as the leading yoga ski specialist with the installation of a Temporary Pod in Obertauern, Austria last season, Hotpod Yoga is looking to station Hotpod Homes across the Swiss and French Alps in the coming months. Classes start from €12 for a 30 minute class and €20 for an hour session with global Hotpod Yoga instructors leading the classes.
Additionally, for those wanting to get ski ready ahead of their departure for the slopes, Hotpod Yoga will be running bi-weekly Ski Fit classes in their Notting Hill location from January. Ski Fit classes will focus on strengthening the body through specific postures, with an emphasis placed o the legs, targeting the muscles needed for skiing – ensuring an active and fulfilled stint on the mountain.
Hotpod Yoga Co-Founder, Nick Higgins, states: “Whilst skiing is hugely enjoyable and extremely fun, it does come with its risks and can cause a real strain on the body – particularly as many of the muscles can lie dormant for the rest of the year. Ski Fit classes are a great way to get our bodies adjusted and prepared before hitting the slopes. Coupled with the Serre Chevalier launch, we’ll provide skiers the opportunity to recharge and recuperate at the beginning and the end of the day, enabling a ski in/ski out yoga experience.”
Tim Levy, Managing Partner of Cocoon Investments said “We are delighted to work together with Hot Pod Yoga to pioneer a new type of sporting experience that compliments and adds to skiing/mountain holidays. Cocoon’s focus is to take great ideas and management teams and turn these into successful businesses.”
All classes take place inside Hotpod Yoga’s innovative, inflatable pods that are heated at 37 degrees to help melt you deeper into your practice. The heat supercharges your experience by rapidly warming your muscles and heightening the levels of fresh oxygen around your body.
